Graduate Student Intern

Who I Work With: My practice serves adolescents, young adults, and adults (ages 13–65+), couples and families.
Availability: John is accepting waitlist clients at our McMinnville location.

I aim to create a counseling space that feels grounded, honest, and supportive—where you can make sense of what you’re carrying and move toward meaningful change.

I am currently completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Fox University. My work is shaped by both my clinical training and over 20 years of military service, which deepened my respect for resilience and the importance of steady support during difficult seasons. I am especially drawn to helping clients navigate trauma, stress, and relational challenges in ways that foster clarity and connection.

My approach is rooted in attachment theory and focuses on understanding the emotional patterns and relationship dynamics that shape our lives. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Restoration Therapy, trauma-informed care, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when practical tools and structure are helpful.

I work with concerns including trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and personal growth, and I have a special interest in supporting those in military, law enforcement, and emergency service roles.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and have training in Restoration Therapy Level 1, along with coursework in trauma-informed care, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and multicultural counseling. I also bring experience working in high-stress environments with diverse individuals and teams.

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, playing guitar, and going to the gym.

If you’re feeling ready for support, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward greater clarity, connection, and growth.
